How It All Began…?
My journey into fine jewellery began long before I ever envisioned creating my own brand…
Coming from a Sri Lankan heritage, I’ve always felt a deep connection to the treasure trove of gemstones my homeland offers. The vivid colours, timeless elegance, and unique stories embedded within each stone ignited my passion for fine jewellery.
It wasn’t until a visit to the United States in 2023, spending time with my husband’s family, that fate took its course. Amid laughter and cherished moments, I was unknowingly stepping into a legacy one built over three generations in the world of fine jewellery.
My father-in-law, a revered expert in fine gemstone jewellery, became my greatest mentor. Countless conversations about the trade unfolded into an invaluable education, immersing me in the art and craftsmanship of gemstones. With each discussion, my fascination deepened, and I found myself drawn to this extraordinary world.
That’s when the realization struck: this legacy wasn’t just history it was a future waiting to be shaped. I turned to my husband and said, “Let’s take this forward. Let’s launch our own brand and continue this incredible tradition.”
And so, Layaz Jewellery was born a seamless blend of my Sri Lankan roots, the generational expertise of my husband’s family, and an unwavering passion for fine jewellery. Through our designs, we don’t just craft jewellery; we tell stories—stories of heritage, elegance, and timeless beauty.
